Why You Need to Check Your Blood on a Regular Basis

Updated on March 9, 2015

We all love to remain young forever, and this is one of the most common ambitions of a major population worldwide. Feeling and looking young is something that needs to be looked upon as precious, as we all will not be able to remain young throughout our lives. We all age after a particular time and so does our health and fitness level. When a youngster starts ageing, he might not be able to come on terms with the fact initially, but he need to accept that physical ageing is something that we cannot control too much for a certain extend and as we age our health and fitness starts to deteriorate.

Once our health and fitness level starts degrading, we tend to fell prey to various number of health related diseases. During our teenage years, we usually fell prey to various diseases and infections and by the time we reach 20 to 23 years of age we get some kind of immunity against most of the diseases. As a result we rarely fell ill and in my experience, once I reached 22 or 23 years of age, I never got ill frequently and just had some slight fever once in a year. I also had occasional blood and health checkups, which really had good results.

I had a group of friends who were really serious in health related matters and we did the health checkups together whenever possible. There were also a lot of close friends, who did not care too much about health and health checkups. But I insisted them to check up their blood and other health statuses, which they rarely gave any importance. Of late I became aware that some of my friends were indeed victims of diseases that were related to ageing. Some of the major health issues they had included cholesterol, hypertension, high blood sugar level etc. Most of them might had these diseases for the last few years, but were not aware as they were not having the habit of checking their blood regularly. Otherwise they might have been successful in preventing some of them.

One we are in our thirties, it is always a good practice to check your blood atleast once or twice in a year and this can really inform you of any disease that might be creeping into your body. Once you know about any health diseases, you can pay attention to that and make sure that you get rid of those health diseases. Once we are into our thirties, our body slightly start losing its flexibility and overall fitness and this is one of the major reason why certain health related diseases such as cholesterol, diabetes, hypertension and other health issues starts appearing.

Once we reach near our forties, we can really double our chances of having health related issues provided we are not taking care of our health properly. If our parents and forefathers had any type of health diseases, we are also vulnerable to that and the chances of having those diseases in our body increases. So having a regular blood check from one of the best blood labs near your house can help you in tackling these issues. You just need to spend below 30 minutes for your blood to be taken out at a medical lab and these days the reports of your blood sample will be mailed to your inbox.

So you do not need to spend a huge amount of time on checking your blood and that too once or twice in a year. Once you make the blood checking routine a part of your life, you will really start experiencing the benefits. A lot of people after their thirties or mid-thirties are leading a happy and healthy life only because of their systematic life-style. They are very well aware about their health and on behalf of that they do test their blood contents on a regular basis. This will help them keep track of the functioning of their vital organs and plan and change their diet and exercises accordingly.

In my opinion, it is a foolish way to live blindly without caring for your health as it can really land you in trouble. Even if you and your family does not have any previous history of health diseases, you need to verify it regularly. In today's world, we are having the habit of eating junk foods and are also forced to consume adulterated food items and vegetables. Doing this on a consistent basis for a long time can really have a negative impact on your body health and you need to keep track of that by taking regular blood checks and other health checkups.

As we grow old, our body starts showing signs of slowing down and this is a point where we need to understand that our overall health is going down. During this time, we need to get a complete health checkup which includes a detailed checking of blood and in case we note that we are having any kind of health issues we can try to fix it by taking up new methods of exercise and diets. These days, one of the major issues faced by majority of the population is obesity. Obesity is a dangerous state from where you can start getting new types of health diseases on a regular basis.

Some of the benefits of checking your blood groups really speaks abouts its importance and those are something that you cannot easily ignore. I once again repeat that blood checking is not a dangerous thing to do and it indeed helps you to keep track of your health and start working on areas of improvement. Some of the major benefits and advantages of regular blood checking include:

1) An insight into the overall performance of vital organs
2) A broad picture of various health related issues if any.
3) Identify any areas of improvement in the overall health situation
4) Act accordingly and take measures that can tackly any identified health issues.
5) Keeps you motivated on improving your fitness and health

The above points are not ultimate and there are many other advantages and benefits of checking your blood on a regular basis after a particular age. As we all not we are not growing younger anymore, and hence there are chances of a number of diseases creeping into our body and health system. So we need to identify them on time and start treatment for tackling those issues. There are also a lot of anti ageing workouts and diets which can help you fit and healthy for a longer period of time.

Remember that you live only once and why not live happy and healthy during that time. I have seen a lot of people who are not able to move or walk without support after the age of fifty or sixty. At the same time there are also a good number of people whom I know, move around and travel without anybody's support. This is really because of their lifestyle and the amount of effort that they had spend in the past towards their health and fitness. As a result they are leading a much happy and healthy life even in their seventies, eighties or nineties. So time is not over, and even you can start from today to maintain a good health and fitness for a better life and you can come up with a good start by checking your blood today itself and identify what all things you need to do to improve your health and live a long and healthy life.
