How SEO Can Enhance Your Online Money Making Strategy

Updated on August 18, 2011

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is one of the major factor that influence the success of any website and webmasters are hiring SEO experts to take care of their website's performance in the search engines. Another major thing that has been thrilling a lot of youngsters is the idea of online money making. Most of us are after various online money making idea and do all sort of stuffs to earn online.

In most of the forums and groups, one major questions that comes projected is the relation between SEO and online money making. I have seen this question quite often and really felt like thinking about it. In fact SEO can help you in making money online, but SEO is never suited for that become quick rich scheme. The reason is that SEO is about improving the search engine rankings for your website's major keywords and this would take some time, but is more stable than other online marketing activities.
There are various methods of making money online, and each of them differ in a big way. Different types of SEO techniques have to be implemented for different types of money making activities and you need to identify which method is suited for your online money making idea.

For example, if you are planning to make money online through and contextual ad program such as Google Adsense, then you need to improve the search visibility of your website. Along with this you should also optimize your content properly to show relevant ads on your pages. Once a visitor comes on your page, it is not necessary that he clicks on any of your ads. You may get 3 or 4 clicks per 1000 visitors and the ratio can be made better if you have optimized your site and its content properly. Here the user clicks on your ads mainly because he is searching for something and not able to find that on your website content. As a result chances are that he would click on any of your ads to get the required information.

In another case consider that you are making money by selling products by setting up a shopping cart. Here you first need to optimize your website and once the visitor comes onto your product pages, the pages should be well written and optimized for the visitor to be convinced and move on to purchase any item. This is another way how SEO can help you in making online money, but when compare with the first method the second one is bit difficult as you have to use high level of skill and creativity to prompt the visitor to buy any products.

Similar is the case with all other online money making activities such as affiliate marketing, service selling, consulting etc. Each requires different methods of SEO practices and if your site is not optimized, the chances of making money online would be minimal. So SEO is a major factor that can enhance your online money making activities and if you have not yet optimized your site, it is high time you start optimizing.
