There has been a lot of articles and videos explaining the unimaginable power of social media and majority of the online marketers are keen on going through such articles and posts. Indeed it is a true fact that if used properly, there is no other great marketing platform like social media. This was really an amazing experience to witness and we are eagerly waiting to see how her fortune changes after the incident.

The story is about a lady named Chandralekha from a village named Ranni in Kerala who was a housewife and her husband’s salary was only the major source of income and the family was really finding it hard to meet both the ends. She was also an amazing singer even though she had not acquired any musical training. She was rather a genuine singer with a high quality sound. Once, while Chandralekha was singing a Malayalam song "Rajahamsame mazhavil kudilil" at home, one of her relative happened to record it through his cell phone and uploaded it on YouTube, which is one of the best social media platforms for sharing and uploading video clips. The video clip remained there on YouTube itself without making any inroads and it almost remained there for 1 year.

But one day the YouTube video was shared on Facebook, which is another major and most popular social media channel that is available. The YouTube video got a positive response on Facebook and all of a sudden the video got promoted virally that the page views for the YouTube video started rising rapidly. Seeing the rise in the traffic, the uploader of the video clip also appended the contact number of Chandralekha so that one can call and confirm that she can indeed sing well. This was mainly that there was doubt cast over whether the sounds were original or was it a fake one.

So once the number was appended there was a rush of calls on Chandralekha's cell phone and she was really tired of singing to those who called her. Soon the video and its fame reached a number of established music directors, playback singers and even film producers. They soon started taking note of this song and Chandralekha saw a great turn in her fortune and even got a couple of offers for playback singing with some of the reputed directors in Malayalam (local language of Kerala) film industry.

As of now she has got a couple of singing offers in Malayalam and her voice has also gained attraction from Kerala's neighboring state Tamil Nadu, where she is all set to sing for a Tamil movie. She has become a star overnight and she cannot simply believe it and the irony is that during the time when her video was spreading virally over the internet, she had not indeed viewed the video by herself as she was not internet savvy and did not have the luxury to browse the internet.

Chandralekha is one of those rare artists who have made a success and a career break with the amazing power of social media channels. We need to wait and see how this humble lady carves her career in the long run, but so far things have been so amazing and the social media have done their part. Her success still remains as a fairy tale to a large population but we must indeed accept the fact and also the power of social media marketing.
